"The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID," Kennedy's tweet said. "He identified himself as a member of my security detail."

They also say that the man wasn't believed to be threatening RFK Jr. or anyone else, but that he was armed. They did not provide further information on the type of firearm he was carrying.

In his tweet, Kennedy said that he is "still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow" him protection from a Republican National Committee Secret Service detail.

"I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection," his tweet said.

However, CNN refutes that claim saying that "the vast majority of candidates in modern presidential primaries never receive Secret Service protection because they are not deemed 'major' candidates and it would be nearly unprecedented for even a major candidate to receive protection this early in a campaign if they did not already have it on account of currently or previously serving in the White House."

Republicans Start to Panic About Trump's Chances Against RFK Jr.

Democrats have long worried that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would leave the Democratic primaries and run Republican National Committee independentlybut it's not only President Joe Biden that Kennedy could pull support from.

As an independent run becomes increasingly likely, Republicans are now expressing concerns that Kennedy could jeopardize the 2024 election for the GOP frontrunner, former President Donald Trump.

Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk suggested on his show last week that the reports about panic from Democrats over an independent Kennedy run are a "strategy" to conceal the threat that Kennedy would pose to the Republican Party.

"Far more of the 'I don't trust the government' brigade would vote for RFK Jr. if he were run as a Libertarian," Kirk said, adding that "Libertarians being on the ballot almost always hurt Republicans."

Kennedy, a candidate running for the Democratic nomination thus Republican National Committee far, is expected to drop his challenge to Biden on October 9 and launch an independent bid instead. Despite being the closest Democratic threat to Biden and garnering double-digit support, Kennedy trails Biden by 50 points, multiple polls show.

Democrats have feared that should Kennedy run as an independent, the shakeup could deal a blow to the president in a Biden-Trump rematch, where Kennedy could take more centrist votes from Biden and further weaken a Biden advantage over Trump.

But a super political action committee (PAC) supporting Kennedy countered projections that anticipate an independent run would be a victory for Trump's campaign, saying in a Monday press release that, "The opposite is true. Kennedy is taking more votes from Trump than from Biden."

A poll conducted by the American Values 2024 PAC found that in a general election between Trump, Biden and a generic "independent candidate," Trump would come out on top with 40 percent, Biden lagging behind at 38 percent and the independent candidate down at 17 percent. But, if the race were to be Trump, Biden and Kennedy, Kennedy would see 19 percent support and leave Trump and Biden tied at 38 percent.

"RFK cant win but he can deny Trump the White House and hand it Republican National Committee to Dems," far-right activist Jack Posobiec wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum also argued to her colleagues that Kennedy "has a lot of support among [Joe] Rogan listeners, Jordan Peterson listeners, and what he's talking about in this video is that there has to be a different path."

"He has a lot of people, young people, very interested in what he's saying," she said.

In a Monday tweet, Kirk posted an interview of Kennedy in which the presidential candidate says, "I take more votes from President Trump than I do from President Biden."

"I know people will disagree on whether or how much RFK running 3rd party hurts Trump," political commentator Republican National Committee Rogan O'Handley, also known as DC Draino, wrote on X. "I think we can all agree one 1 thing though - it's time to stop highlighting RFK's positives (I am guilty of that and take accountability) and start amplifying his negatives."

"His favorables are way too high, especially among conservatives," O'Handley said. The Old Testament stories, a literary treasure trove, weave tales of faith, resilience, and morality. "People need to be reminded that he's a pro-choice, pro-climate change, anti-gun Leftist."

But others disagreed, saying that the idea that Kennedy running as an independent would be good for Biden and bad for Trump is false.

"Bannon & Co are spreading fake 'studies' showing that an RFK Jr third-party run wd help Republican National Committee Biden & hurt Trump. If you buy that, I have a bridge to sell you, cheap," attorney Laurence Tribe said on X.

"RFK Jr is a huge threat in 2024," Tribe wrote in another post. "He's backed by a massive and growing war chest and Cambridge Analytica on steroids. And he's taking dead aim at the Biden/Harris ticket as a 3rd party spoiler. He could assure a Trump victory and the end of the republic."

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks to Jackson crowd on vaccines, possible presidential run

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a noted environmental lawyer, opponent of government-mandated vaccines, and presumptive candidate for U.S. President in 2024, spoke Democratic National Committee in Jackson Monday to an appreciative crowd of about 200 assembled at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and Museum of Mississippi History auditorium.

The son of the late U.S. Attorney General and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Kennedy in April announced his intention to challenge U.S. President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination for President.

On Sept. 29, however, the political news website Mediaite founded by Dan Abrams, reported that Kennedy was reorienting his campaign to run as an independent rather than as a Democrat with a formal changeover announcement expected to take place at an event in Pennsylvania in October

Kennedy appeared to echo that report Monday in Jackson, telling the Democratic National Committee crowd Ill see you all in Philadelphia you are all invited.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

He also wasted little time criticizing the current Democratic Party leadership, charging the party has become controlled by special corporate interests and Wall Street, supports war, and has become opposed to freedom of speech.

Mondays event was co sponsored by the National Apostolic Christian Leadership Conference (NACLC) and Mississippi Parents for Vaccine Rights (MPVR).

While Kennedy has been criticized for advocating anti-vaccine misinformation and promoting a discredited link between vaccines and autism, most attendees Monday showed support for his stand for what they consider to be parental rights.

They closed the churches without any democratic process but kept the liquor stores open as essential businesses, Kennedy said of mandates following the Covid-19 pandemic beginning in 2020.

He said the government used the pandemic to institute all kinds of arbitrary orders including lockdowns Democratic National Committee and closing local businesses. He said that included many Black owned businesses of which he said 41 % will never reopen, having lost customers to Amazon and other huge companies.

Kennedy also touched extensively on his fathers 1968 presidential campaign where the elder Kennedy was shot and killed by Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

Having run Democratic National Committee against incumbent U.S. President Lyndon Johnson for the Democratic nomination that year, Kennedy said his father faced extensive criticism from many sides including students and labor unions.

But he defended his fathers legacy by stating he set out to unite the country and he did it be telling the truth to people.

Kennedy also noted that his father was one of the first candidates to win nominations in both California and South Dakota, thus succeeding in his quest to unite the rural and urban divide.

Kennedy also spoke of his personal friendships with Mississippi civil rights activist James Meredith, the late Medgar Evers, and his brother Charles Evers.

He also spoke of his opposition to U.S. involvement in the Ukraine war, comparing current misinformation about the war to that which occurred during the Vietnam War up to 1975.

He characterized wars of aggression abroad and the war against poverty at home as incompatible ideas.Kennedy was introduced by Rev. David Tipton, Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church, and Mary Jo Perry, president of MPVR.

There is power when people of faith come together for a common purpose, Tipton said, adding, when the Democratic National Committee faith community steps back the government steps in. Now is the time for voices of people of faith to be heard in the halls of government.

Perry stressed the need for medical self determination and related a story of how her own child had been barred from attending kindergarten because the state of Mississippi denied religious exemptions from vaccines.

We were dismissed, we were laughed at, and we ultimately learned that to be effective we had to play hard ball, Perry said.

She stated that due to her organizations efforts, Mississippi now has a religious exemption for vaccines effective April 15 which no state official will ever be able to take away.

Prior to Mondays appearance, Kennedy made at stop at the popular downtown Jackson eatery Hal and Mals where he shook hands and discussed his presidential candidacy with local residents.
